Describe each zone
Identify splash, heat, cleaning chemicals, food contact and visible appearance requirements where applicable. Do not assume that all areas share the same finish or material specification simply because they belong to one restaurant.
Ask the responsible team to define requirements
For hygiene, fire or food-contact obligations, obtain the applicable project requirements from the responsible designer or operator. A stainless grade name alone is not evidence of compliance for a finished installation. Keep decorative colour preferences separate from these requirements.
Prepare separate schedules
List the component, location, finish and relevant cleaning method for each area. Show joints and interfaces that need review. Compare quotations against the same zone-specific brief rather than accepting a single generic stainless wall panel description.
| Decision | Put this in writing |
|---|---|
| Zone | Record actual exposure and intended use. |
| Requirement | Identify applicable project documentation. |
| Schedule | Separate decorative and operational components. |
Put the detail to work.
A decorative wall panel specification is copied into a kitchen splash area. Return the use conditions for review rather than assuming the same coated finish is appropriate. Identify cleaning chemicals, heat and any direct food-contact requirement, then obtain the relevant project guidance. Keep the approved kitchen and decorative schedules separate even if both ultimately use stainless material.
Before you enquire
- Clarify any direct food-contact use.
- Obtain finish-specific cleaning guidance.
- Do not infer compliance from a material name.
